Hogmanay 2024
As we bid farewell to 2024 and welcome the promise of a new year, I find myself reflecting on the journey I’ve traversed—a journey marked by trials, transformations, and triumphs. This year has been an unpredictable whirlwind, but through every twist and turn, I’ve come to truly believe that everything happens for a reason.
Recovering from cancer has been both the most challenging and enlightening experience of my life. It tested my strength, my resolve, and my spirit. But, as I look back, I realize it also taught me the invaluable lesson of resilience. Each day I fought, I grew stronger. It wasn’t just a battle against illness; it was a battle for hope, for life, and for the countless dreams I still yearned to chase.
One of the unexpected curveballs thrown my way this year was being made redundant from Barclays. At the time, it felt like the ground beneath me was crumbling. But looking back now, I see it as a pivotal moment of redirection. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and led me towards a new career—one that has been nothing short of a godsend. This change has reignited my passion and reminded me that sometimes, losing one path can lead us to a far more fulfilling one.
As I stand on the cusp of 2025, my heart is brimming with excitement and gratitude. The journey to my own wedding is a dream come true, a celebration of love and partnership. Moreover, the anticipation of planning weddings for close friends and families in the coming year fills me with joy. Each ceremony is a testament to love and the beautiful bonds that unite us all.
This year, I’ve decided against making New Year’s resolutions. Life is too short to impose restrictions on ourselves. Instead, I choose to embrace each day with open arms and an open heart. The past year has taught me to cherish every moment, to savor the small joys, and to find beauty in the unexpected.
As I look ahead, I do so with a heart full of hope and a spirit ready to embrace whatever comes my way. Here’s to 2025—a year of love, laughter, and living life to its fullest.
Warm regards,
